Concert and film "Songs of the soul"

The concert and the film are musical voyages along the inner horizons of soul. Måndotter’s songs are accompanied by guitarist JanEric Ström. They will perform interpretations of Leonard Cohen and Greek and Hebrew hymns. The film is set in the atmospheric Cretan mountains in Greece and dedicated to the mythical musician Orpheus.

The Mystery Play of C.G. Jung

This is a play reading that enables both actors and audience to have an embodied experience of The Red Book. Dramatic dialogues accompanied by music and Jung’s artwork bring his ‘confrontation with the unconscious’ to life in ways only live theatre can provide.

What happens when our lives are suddenly overwhelmed by violence or war? How can we face a trauma so immense that it seems unimaginable? Psychotherapist Eva Pattis Zoja guides us through an extraordinary journey of overcoming trauma using images.
Documentary film in German with English subtitles, followed by a discussion.

New Adventures in Alpine Music (Isa Kurz, Daniel Woodtli, Philipp Moll).
Imagine a ride up to the Jungfrau region, discovering the lush vocals of gorgeous Tyrolienne Isa Kurz. Listen out for her deep grooves on dulcimer, accordion and violin in the shadow of the Eiger Northface. The view is breathtaking and Swiss trumpet player Daniel Woodtli signals atmospheric celtic chants. Philipp Moll’s unmistakeable bass playing grants safe passage over the mountain rigs and peaks, on to the heartlands of his native Tyrol.

“And if they have not died, they are still alive today ...”. Stories, legends, fairy tales, songs. Switzerland has a rich tradition of oral storytelling. Kathrin Asper will tell the tale of a ravine, Maria Bernasconi a tale about the old Mrs Smith, Katharina Casanova will present an ancient song about St Margareta on the Alp, Regine Schweizer-Vüllers will tell stories of the redemption of cursed treasure maidens.

Film and panel: Thomas B. Kirsch in Conversation with Murray Stein in the Home of C.G. Jung

About a year before Tom Kirsch’s death, he met with his friend Murray Stein in the library of Jung’s home, in Küsnacht. This is a moving and honest conversation in which Dr. Kirsch speaks about many issues in analytical psychology and about his life as a Jungian.

Tales of magic and mystery

In fairy tales we meet the non-understandable: magic and mystery can occur at any moment. They are not predictable, and no attempt is made to explain them. The session gives listeners the opportunity to experience a guided imagination through realms where everything can happen.
Gidon Horowitz is an internationally known storyteller and works as a Jungian Analyst in the region of Freiburg (Germany).

Elegy for Sabina Spielrein

This one-woman staged reading, winner of the 2019 Gradiva Award, features a controversial historical figure in the psychoanalytic world, Sabina Spielrein (1885-1942). Spielrein’s relationship with Jung was a fertile collaboration that contributed to the development of some of Jung’s most important contributions. The performance is based upon research using Spielrein's diaries, letters, papers etc., as well as correspondences of Jung and Freud.
